NEW DELHI — The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Junior Cricket Committee has drafted Saurashtra top-order batter Aryan Savsani and Haryana batting all-rounder Tanmay Baloda into the India Under-19 squads for the upcoming home series against Australia Under-19.

The late call-ups follow the withdrawal and subsequent two-year ban of Bengal leg-spinner Rohit Yadav over severe age discrepancies discovered during a pre-season documentation audit.

According to the official release from the BCCI, Savsani has been named in the 50-over squad, while Baloda will join the red-ball lineup for the multi-day fixtures.

"The Junior Cricket Committee has named Saurashtra Cricket Association's Aryan Savsani as Rohit Yadav's replacement in India U19's One-Day squad, while Haryana Cricket Association's Tanmay Baloda has been named as his replacement in the Multi-Day squad," the BCCI confirmed in an official statement.

Strict Crackdown on Age Misrepresentation

Rohit Yadav's expulsion comes as part of a wider crackdown on age fraud spearheaded by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Scrutiny of Yadav’s records revealed a massive 27-month gap between his stated age and official identification. The investigation highlighted multiple conflicting updates to his Aadhaar card—showing birth years shifting across 2006, 2007, and 2009—alongside changes to his listed residential addresses.

Though Yadav had toured Sri Lanka with the national junior side in July, taking six wickets in the Youth Test, CAB’s verification flagged the discrepancies before the upcoming home leg. He is among more than 60 junior cricketers recently barred or flagged for document irregularities across state associations.
