Indian long-distance runner Sawan Barwal delivered the standout performance of the morning, clinching a sensational silver medal in the men's marathon. Barwal clocked an impressive time of 2:11:37, setting a new national record (pending official ratification). More importantly, his podium finish broke a 44-year dry spell for India in the event at the Asian Games, with the nation's previous marathon medal dating back to the 1982 edition.
