AIFF-NAGOYA — The Indian women's table tennis team delivered a commanding performance on Monday, sweeping past Pakistan 3-0 to finish their Group F campaign with a flawless record and secure a direct entry into the quarterfinals of the Asian Games 2026.

Making strategic changes to the playing lineup, India maintained absolute dominance throughout the tie, giving their opponents little room to breathe. Experienced paddler Sutirtha Mukherjee, who earned a historic bronze in women's doubles at the previous edition in Hangzhou, set the tone for the fixture. She brushed aside Aleena Khan in straight games (11-3, 11-3, 11-4) in a lightning-fast match lasting just 10 minutes to put India 1-0 ahead.

Young Asian Games debutant Syndrela Das stepped up next, displaying remarkable composure on the big stage. Syndrela outplayed Kalsoom Khan 11-6, 11-7, 11-5 to stretch India's lead to 2-0.

With the match already in the bag, ace paddler Sreeja Akula sealed the clean sweep in the third fixture. Sreeja cruised past Fatima Khan 11-4, 11-4, 11-5, ensuring a dominant 3-0 victory.

This stellar win wraps up a brilliant group stage performance for the Indian women, who finished at the top of Group F with three wins out of three. Their campaign features an impressive opening 3-0 victory over Indonesia, followed by a hard-fought, nerve-wracking 3-2 comeback win against Singapore.

Having successfully navigated the group hurdle into the knockout stages, the Indian women's table tennis squad will now refocus their energies as they chase a podium finish at the 2026 Asian Games.
