SRINAGAR — At least seven people, including five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, sustained injuries on Tuesday morning following a violent head-on collision between a paramilitary mini-truck and a commercial freight truck along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

The accident occurred near the Levdora area of Qazigund, located in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.

According to local authorities, the impact of the high-speed collision severely damaged both vehicles. The crash left five paramilitary personnel—including four officers—and two civilians trapped inside their vehicles before first responders and local police rushed to extract them.

In addition to the paramilitary force members, the driver and conductor of the civilian truck also suffered injuries in the collision.

Condition and Medical Response

All seven individuals were immediately evacuated from the crash site and transported to a nearby medical facility for emergency evaluation and treatment. Hospital authorities reported that while the victims suffered multi-trauma injuries, all of them are currently in stable condition and receiving necessary care.

Local police have initiated a preliminary investigation into the cause of the head-on crash to determine whether weather conditions, mechanical failure, or speeding contributed to the collision on the busy national highway segment.
