NEW DELHI — Former Union Minister Smriti Irani has expressed her deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin following her high-profile appointment as the party's National General Secretary.
Taking to social media platform X, Irani described her political trajectory within the ruling party as a profoundly humbling experience, reiterating her dedication to the party's core ideology and nation-building.
"From an ordinary BJP karyakarta to being entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, this journey has been deeply humbling," Irani posted.
She further noted, "I am deeply honoured and grateful to Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Nitin Nabin for entrusting me with this responsibility and giving me yet another opportunity to serve the Sangathan and the Nation."
Reflecting on the party’s central mandate, the former Union Minister stated that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the vision of achieving a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) is no longer a distant goal, but an active national commitment. She emphasized that contributing toward this vision is both a significant responsibility and a privilege for every party worker.
Highlighting the organizational ethos of the party, Irani remarked that for a BJP worker, every role assigned within the Sangathan (organization) is fundamentally a avenue for service, driven by the guiding philosophy of Rashtra Pratham (Nation First).
"It is with this spirit, and with the continued guidance of our senior leadership, that I look forward to taking on this responsibility with renewed commitment, strengthening the Sangathan at the grassroots and contributing to the larger mission of nation-building," she added, while also extending her congratulations and best wishes to other newly appointed office-bearers across the country.
The organizational restructuring comes as part of a broader leadership reshuffle within the BJP hierarchy under national president Nitin Nabin, aimed at strengthening the party's organizational apparatus at the national and grassroots levels.
