Tragedy struck a private school in Nagpur's Jaripatka area on Tuesday when an eight-year-old boy passed away after collapsing during recess. The victim, identified as Fanit Shaligram Katre, was a Class 3 student residing in Samta Nagar.
According to officials from the Jaripatka police station, Fanit’s mother had dropped him off at school that morning just like any other day. Around 2:10 PM, during the afternoon break, Fanit was running down the corridor with his classmates when he suddenly collapsed.
School staff rushed to his aid immediately, taking him to a local clinic before transferring him to the state-run Mayo Hospital. Tragically, doctors at Mayo Hospital declared him dead upon arrival. Police have registered a case of accidental death as they look further into the incident.
