Three of India's heavy hitters—Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma—have secured spots in the top five of the latest ICC ODI batting rankings following their series against England. Indian skipper Gill is now virtually neck-and-neck with New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell for the No. 1 spot.
After racking up 188 runs over three matches, Gill sits just a single rating point behind Mitchell (802 points). Meanwhile, Kohli (767) and Rohit (758) hold strong at third and fourth place, respectively.
On England's side, Player of the Series Joe Root leaped four places to eighth after scoring 249 unbeaten runs. His teammates Ben Duckett and Jacob Bethell also saw decent gains, moving up to joint-19th and 64th.

Shreyas Iyer moved up two spots to 13th in the batting rankings.
Kuldeep Yadav dropped out of the top 10 bowling spot, sliding to 11th on a list led by Afghanistan's Rashid Khan.
