NEW DELHI: In a major shake-up for India's white-ball setup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the national squads for the upcoming home series against the West Indies, alongside the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup.
The highlight of the selection announcement was the maiden national call-ups handed to Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir and Jammu and Kashmir pace sensation Auqib Nabi, both of whom have been rewarded for their stellar consistency in domestic cricket. They will join the squad for the three-match ODI series, which kicks off on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, the five-match T20I series is scheduled to begin in Lucknow starting October 6.
Senior heavyweights like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to headline the ODI setup, while Shubman Gill will lead the side as captain, with KL Rahul acting as his deputy and designated wicketkeeper.

Squad Changes and Rest of India: The Men's Selection Committee also finalized the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup fixture against Ranji Trophy champions Jammu & Kashmir, with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant named to lead the side.
Additionally, the selection panel made structural adjustments regarding the upcoming assignments, confirming that Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn from the Asian Games squad to bolster the team in the ODI series against the West Indies. In another update, Varun Chakaravarthy was ruled out of the Japan T20I and Asian Games due to a side strain, with Vipraj Nigam named as his direct replacement.
