DEHRADUN/PAURI: In a stunning display of skill, grit, and dominance, 12-year-old table tennis prodigy Kaira Bhandari has taken the sporting world by storm. Sweeping the competition clean, Kaira captured all four gold medals at the recently concluded 2nd Uttarakhand State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament held at the Shaheed Rifleman Jaswant Singh Mahavir Chakra Stadium in Pauri Garhwal.
Displaying remarkable consistency and composure beyond her years, the young paddler remained undefeated throughout the tournament. Kaira clinched the championship titles in the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, and the Senior Women’s singles categories. Playing against competitors older and more experienced than herself, she proved her mettle by securing a clean sweep across all fronts.
Known for her aggressive right-handed attacking style, fast-paced rallies, and intense pressure play, Kaira has rapidly evolved into one of India’s most promising young table tennis talents. Her exceptional journey in the sport began around 2021, and within a remarkably short span, she has climbed to the top echelons of state rankings while establishing a strong footprint on the national circuit.
The year 2026 marked a major milestone in Kaira's burgeoning career as she expanded her horizons to international arenas. She made her international debut by representing India at the WTT Youth Contender events held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, gaining vital exposure against top global youth players.
Under the meticulous guidance of her coach, Parag Agarwal, Kaira’s daily routine involves rigorous training sessions aimed at refining her technique and mental toughness. Her stellar performance in Pauri has not only cemented her status as Uttarakhand's premier table tennis talent but has also inspired numerous young aspirants in the state.
