Authorities have issued high alerts, advising residents to stay clear of swollen rivers and streams.
Traffic Breakdown & Travel Advisories
NH44 Shutdown: Mudslides and shooting stones triggered by non-stop rain between Ramban and Udhampur have completely halted traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Safety Warning: Traffic police have strictly advised commuters against traveling on NH44 until weather conditions clear and repairs are completed. Travelers should verify conditions with Traffic Control Units before venturing out.
Alternative Routes: Movement on the Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonmarg-Leh highway, and Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag route (NH-2444) will only be permitted after local authorities inspect road stability.
Amarnath Yatra Stalled
The pilgrimage remains suspended due to ongoing bad weather. Traffic authorities confirmed that no vehicles carrying pilgrims will be allowed to move toward Srinagar from Jammu, Udhampur, or Ramban. Pilgrims are currently being accommodated safely at various base camps, including Baltal, Nunwan, and Panthachowk in the Valley, and Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu.
