MIRA-BHAYANDAR: Just a week after meeting his childhood school friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, octogenarian Asgarali Vora has finally found closure and relief in a long-standing land dispute in Maharashtra's Mira-Bhayandar region.
The breakthrough came after Seven Eleven Construction Company announced that it has entirely cancelled its transactions related to the disputed land. Prashant Keluskar, the director of the construction firm, released a video clarifying the company's position and confirming that a meeting was held with Asgarali Vora to resolve the matter amicably.
The Backstory: Meeting the Prime Minister Vora, who studied with PM Modi at the BN School in Vadnagar, Gujarat, had not reached out to his childhood friend since he assumed the office of Prime Minister. However, facing immense distress over alleged encroachment and illegal purchase of his land by a real estate firm, Vora decided to make one last appeal. He met PM Modi on September 8 to seek assistance, explaining that his property was being encroached upon by a firm involving BJP leader and MLA Narendra Mehta.
Company Clarification and Denial Following the high-profile meeting, Seven Eleven Construction Company strongly refuted the allegations, asserting that MLA Narendra Mehta had no connection to the land transaction or daily business operations.
Keluskar clarified, "The land in question was purchased from Mervin Joseph Fernandes and Mukesh Parekh." He further claimed that attempts were being made to deliberately defame MLA Narendra Mehta and the construction firm.
Dispute Resolved Despite the denials, the firm took concrete steps to put the controversy to rest. Keluskar announced that the company officially submitted a letter to the Town Planning Department of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation on September 15 to surrender the relevant construction permissions.
"The company held a meeting with Asgarali Vora regarding this matter, and the entire dispute has been resolved," the firm stated, confirming that they no longer hold any connection or claim to Vora’s property.
