BHUBANESWAR — President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a three-day official visit to Odisha starting August 3, where she will participate in a series of public, academic, and spiritual engagements across Cuttack, Khurda, and Ganjam districts.
A key highlight of the President's itinerary will be a train ride from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur, a decision taken in view of the prevailing monsoon conditions in the state.
High-Level Preparedness Meeting Held
Ahead of the head of state's arrival, Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a high-level review meeting to assess security, transport, and administrative preparations. Garg directed all state departments and agencies to ensure flawless execution and complete all logistics well within the stipulated timeframe.
Special emphasis has been laid on maintaining strict sanitation and security measures at the railway stations in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur, as well as along the presidential train route.
Detailed Itinerary & Key Engagements
Day 1 (August 3): President Murmu will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar aboard a special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft in the afternoon. She will proceed to Lok Bhavan before traveling by road to Baanga in Cuttack district's Damapada tehsil to inaugurate Jagadguru Kripalu University. She will return to Bhubaneswar for an overnight stay.
Day 2 (August 4): The President will board a train from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur. Upon arriving in Berhampur, she will travel by road to Taptapani to offer prayers and perform aarti at the revered Maa Kandhuni Devi Peetha, followed by participation in a tree plantation drive. Her schedule also includes a visit to the historic Dhabaleswar Temple near Berhampur, where she will stay overnight.
Day 3 (August 5): President Murmu will complete her return journey to Bhubaneswar via train before departing for New Delhi aboard a special IAF aircraft.
State authorities confirmed that seamless inter-agency coordination is underway to facilitate the smooth movement of the presidential convoy and train throughout the three-day tour.
