Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Probe Leak of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s Z-Plus Security Protocols

HYDERABAD — In a major security lapse involving top-tier VVIP protection, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have registered a criminal case against the administrators of a popular social media handle for allegedly publishing confidential security protocols surrounding Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The leak involves sensitive information regarding the Chief Minister's 'Z-plus' security blanket, detailed movement schedules, and emergency medical data uploaded to the X (formerly Twitter) platform under the handle 'Telugu Scribe'.

Shift to Specialized Cyber Investigation

The legal action follows an official complaint lodged by Chief Minister’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) KB Franklin.

While the matter was initially reported at the Khairatabad Police Station on July 14, senior officials recognized the technological nature of the compromise. Under orders from the City Additional Commissioner (Crimes), the case was officially transferred to the Cyber Crime wing for a specialized investigation.

Sensitive Wireless Dispatch Compromised

According to official details in the complaint, the security breach pertains to a classified wireless communication dispatched on June 13. The encrypted transmission had been circulated to critical administrative and security agencies—including the Delhi Police Joint Commissioner, the Resident Commissioner at Telangana Bhavan, RGIA airport authorities, and the Director General of Police (DGP)—to coordinate Chief Minister Reddy’s official trip to New Delhi.

The operational dispatch contained sensitive logistics required for managing high-risk protected personnel, including:

  • Minute-by-minute movement itineraries throughout the capital visit.

  • Specific perimeter and escort deployment protocols under 'Z-plus' cover.

  • Emergency medical information, including the Chief Minister's blood group.

  • Direct official contact numbers of key security command personnel.

"We identified that highly confidential information regarding the CM's 'Z-plus' category security was disclosed on the 'Telugu Scribe' X account while the CM's visit was still actively underway," CSO Franklin stated in the complaint, emphasizing that public distribution of internal wireless messages is strictly prohibited.

Insider Leak Suspected

Security officials suspect an internal breach, alleging that an authorized official or recipient unlawfully leaked the confidential document to external parties and social media operators.

The security wing has demanded a thorough forensic probe to identify the source of the leak within the administrative chain, alongside punitive action against those operating the social media handle.

The X handle 'Telugu Scribe', which describes itself in its profile bio as a citizen-run platform dedicated to highlighting governance issues, is now under formal investigation as cyber forensic teams trace the digital trail of the leaked documents.
