RUDRAPRAYAG: In a major push for traditional Vedic education, plans are underway to establish a premier Veda Mahavidyalaya in the Sansari area of Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. The initiative has taken a definitive shape as the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) successfully selected and cleared a sprawling 22-acre plot of land designated for the institution's campus.
The upcoming college aims to serve as a vital center for the preservation, propagation, and academic study of ancient Indian scriptures, Vedic chants, and Sanskrit literature. With the growing need to safeguard India's traditional knowledge systems, authorities believe that setting up the specialized institution in the sacred landscape of Rudraprayag will attract students passionate about ancient heritage.
Officials close to the development stated that the selection of the 22-acre land tract in Sansari was finalized following careful feasibility assessments. The expansive campus is envisioned to feature modern educational amenities alongside traditional gurukul-style learning environments, residential facilities for students and faculty, and dedicated spaces for spiritual and ritualistic practices.
The establishment of the Veda Mahavidyalaya is expected to provide a robust platform for young scholars pursuing Vedic studies in the Himalayan state, further reinforcing Uttarakhand’s status as a spiritual and cultural hub.
