Director Rohit Shetty has officially locked the theatrical release date for the much-awaited comedy entertainer, Golmaal 5. The multi-starrer film, headlined by Ajay Devgn and featuring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, is scheduled to hit the big screen on January 8, 2027.

Taking to social media, Rohit Shetty shared an exciting new poster and teaser alongside a heartfelt message that sent franchise fans into a frenzy. He wrote, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY... BAS, NOTHING ELSE. 8TH JAN 2027.” The makers also added, “2027 is all set to begin with fun, laughter and a whole lot of Golmaal! Get ready for the madness as Golmaal 5 arrives in cinemas on 8th January 2027! New year. New madness. Same Golmaal!”

The OG Gang Reunites With a Massive Twist

Nearly a decade after the release of the fourth installment, Golmaal Again (2017), the iconic comedy gang is finally returning to theatres. Ajay Devgn will reprise his role as the fierce yet lovable Gopal, alongside Arshad Warsi as Madhav, Tusshar Kapoor as the mute Lucky, Shreyas Talpade as Laxman, and Kunal Kemmu.

Adding to the excitement is the major return of Sharman Joshi, who is making his much-awaited comeback to the franchise after nearly 20 years. Joshi originally played Laxman in the groundbreaking first film, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), but missed out on the subsequent sequels.

The biggest highlight of Golmaal 5, however, is the entry of superstar Akshay Kumar into Rohit Shetty’s famous comedy universe. Kumar’s addition is expected to inject a fresh dynamic and a whole new layer of chaos into the already vibrant ensemble.

Production and Post-Production Status

The production journey of Golmaal 5 kicked off in the scenic hills of Ooty in April 2026. After wrapping up extensive schedules and dialogue portions, the team has successfully completed filming. Post-production work is currently running in full swing to ensure the film meets its grand early-January premiere.
