MUMBAI — Drama unfolded at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Bandra residence, Mannat Land’s End, on August 17 after two snakes were spotted lurking in the property's garden area.

The unexpected intrusion prompted household staff to immediately contact local wildlife officials and professional snake rescuers around 8:00 PM. A team comprising forest department personnel and snake handler Vicky Dubey quickly arrived at the sea-facing bungalow to carry out a rescue operation.

Upon arrival, rescuers identified one of the reptiles as an eight-foot-long Dhaman, commonly known as the Indian Rat Snake. Dubey successfully and safely captured the creature, assuring the household members and security staff that the species is non-venomous and poses no danger to humans. In accordance with standard Forest Department protocols, the captured snake was later released unharmed back into its natural habitat.

However, the rescue effort faced a minor setback when the second snake managed to slither away amidst the commotion as onlookers and staff gathered nearby. Despite an extensive search of the sprawling estate that lasted late into the night, the second reptile remained elusive. Rescuers reassured the family and staff that Dhaman snakes are naturally timid and non-threatening, helping calm tensions at the high-profile residence.

Mannat, located along Bandra Bandstand, is one of Mumbai’s most famous landmarks, routinely drawing hundreds of fans gathering outside its gates to catch a glimpse of the actor.

On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated action thriller King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Raghav Juyal, and Rani Mukerji.
