GURUGRAM: A horrifying incident of alleged road rage and hit-and-run on Gurugram’s prominent Golf Course Road has triggered serious concerns regarding the safety of motorists and women riders in the city. A young woman sports biker, identified as Sia, was allegedly chased, harassed, and deliberately rammed by a car, leaving her injured and questioning public safety.

The harrowing event, which took place on Sunday morning, came to light after the victim shared chilling helmet-cam and action-camera footage on social media. According to Sia—who was riding her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike alongside a group of friends—a white sedan with a Haryana registration plate began tailing her dangerously close shortly after their ride commenced.

"He had started chasing me on Golf Course Road. I asked him to drive while maintaining distance. He kept making hand gestures asking me to stop my bike," Sia recounted in her video statement. She further alleged that the occupants inside the vehicle appeared to be heavily intoxicated and hostile.

Realizing the situation was turning hostile, Sia attempted to keep moving forward to avoid being intercepted, while one of her fellow riders tried to block and shield her from the aggressively trailing car. Despite these precautions, the car driver suddenly maneuvered aggressively, cut straight into her lane, and violently rammed into her motorcycle.

The brutal impact threw Sia off her sports bike onto the asphalt, while her motorcycle was dragged and sent skidding several meters down the road. Fortunately, full protective gear helped prevent more catastrophic injuries, though she sustained physical scrapes and trauma.

Following the collision, one of Sia's vigilant friends chased down the white sedan and managed to intercept it at a nearby traffic signal. However, when confronted about causing the crash, the driver brazenly denied any responsibility before speeding away as the traffic light turned green.

Sia later took to Instagram under the handle @rebelwheels_sia_ to share details of the vehicle, its registration number, and the dramatic crash footage. Visibly shaken by the ordeal, she wrote: "I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren't afraid of hitting people and running away."

The video spread like wildfire across multiple social media platforms, with citizens, motoring communities, and influencers tagging the Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police, and Haryana Police to demand swift legal action.

Taking immediate note of the viral public outcry, the Gurugram Police initiated a suo motu inquiry into the incident. Senior police officials confirmed that the cyber and social media cells tracked down the digital footage, and teams are actively analyzing the clips to establish the exact stretch of the crime scene and trace the accused vehicle.

Sandeep Turan, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Gurugram Police, stated that while no formal complaint or control room alert was initially made right after the accident, authorities reached out to the victim to record an official statement.

Reiterating a strict stance against lawlessness, a senior police spokesperson emphasized that Gurugram Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward road rage, reckless driving, and harassment. Authorities assured the public that an FIR has been registered, and the driver responsible will be identified, tracked down, and arrested at the earliest.
