NEW DELHI: Tragedy struck East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area on Sunday morning after a 30-year-old man lost his life following a mysterious fall from a building rooftop.
According to the Delhi Police, a distress call was received at approximately 5:20 AM, reporting that a man was lying injured on the street in Namdev Gali within the Gandhi Nagar police station jurisdiction.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, senior officials summoned a specialized crime branch team and a forensic science team to inspect the area, conduct a panchnama, and collect vital evidence.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak, a 30-year-old married man who originally hailed from Pipla village in Bihar’s Kishanganj district.
Investigators are currently piecing together the timeline of events leading up to the tragedy, questioning local residents, reviewing nearby CCTV camera footage, and trying to establish why the young man was on the roof during the early morning hours.
Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) R.P. Meena stated that all potential angles are being actively examined.
