GANDHINAGAR — Emergency responders pulled off a miraculous overnight rescue operation in Gandhinagar's Kudasan area, extricating all 15 laborers trapped under heavy metal framework and concrete debris following a structural collapse at an under-construction commercial site.

The incident took place around 9:00 PM at an under-construction commercial complex identified as 'Bosky the Empire'. According to authorities, a heavy iron slab and an elevated ramp structure suddenly failed and crashed down while workers were actively carrying out construction duties.

The sudden collapse trapped several laborers under metric tons of twisted iron grid work and structural concrete. Upon receiving initial alarms, multi-agency response teams—comprising the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local fire brigade, and Gandhinagar police—rushed to the scene equipped with specialized hydraulic cutters, heavy cranes, and life-detection technology.

Working under floodlights through the late night hours, rescue workers systematically cleared metal structures to reach those buried beneath. In what officials described as a major breakthrough, all 15 trapped personnel were safely pulled out alive from under the rubble.

Speaking from the ground zero site, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi confirmed that immediate medical assistance was deployed to safeguard lives.

"All 15 individuals trapped under the debris have been brought out safely," Sanghavi said. "Out of the total rescued, 12 workers remain admitted at the Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for care, while three were discharged after receiving preliminary medical aid. Hospital authorities confirmed that none of the admitted patients are in critical condition."

Health Minister Praful Pansheriya visited Gandhinagar Civil Hospital late at night to review medical preparedness, directing hospital staff to ensure uninterrupted treatment and emergency operations for workers suffering from back and leg fractures.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel continuously monitored the rescue efforts and directed top administrative and medical bodies to maintain full support for the affected families.

While site managers and contractors indicated that all rostered shift workers have been accounted for, administrative authorities declared that heavy earthmoving equipment will remain on duty until every piece of debris is removed to rule out any further casualties. A formal government inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the structural failure and evaluate if mandatory safety regulations were flouted on-site.
