NAGPUR — A 19-year-old youth arrested in Nagpur for allegedly holding a minor girl captive and repeatedly sexually assaulting her has triggered widespread anger after complaining about cell conditions and demanding luxury accommodations, including pizza and soft bedding, while in police lock-up.
According to officials from the Hudkeshwar police station, the accused, identified as Nirmay Madhav Pakhare, complained that the jail walls were dirty and the sanitation facilities were unhygienic.
Investigators revealed that the incident stems from an online contact established last year when Pakhare created a fraudulent Instagram profile under the alias "Akash Mehra".
The situation escalated when the teenager went missing on August 2, prompting her panicked family to file a missing person report with the Hudkeshwar police.
Officers breached the locked door to discover the victim bound hand and foot on a bed, exhibiting nearly 20 physical injuries, including sharp knife wounds to her wrists and neck.
Pakhare has been booked under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with charges of kidnapping and illegal confinement.
