NAGPUR — A 19-year-old youth arrested in Nagpur for allegedly holding a minor girl captive and repeatedly sexually assaulting her has triggered widespread anger after complaining about cell conditions and demanding luxury accommodations, including pizza and soft bedding, while in police lock-up.

According to officials from the Hudkeshwar police station, the accused, identified as Nirmay Madhav Pakhare, complained that the jail walls were dirty and the sanitation facilities were unhygienic. Following his arrest, Pakhare reportedly demanded pizza for breakfast, gourmet meals, premium bedding, and mosquito repellent. Police added that he initially refused to cooperate with medical examinations and balked at handing over security passcodes for both his mobile phone and the victim’s device.

Investigators revealed that the incident stems from an online contact established last year when Pakhare created a fraudulent Instagram profile under the alias "Akash Mehra". After befriending the 16-year-old victim, he obtained private photographs and subsequently blackmailed her, threatening to publish the photos online if she did not comply with his demands. Driven by fear, the victim agreed to meet him at various locations, including a hotel and a rented room in Nagpur’s Dighori locality.

The situation escalated when the teenager went missing on August 2, prompting her panicked family to file a missing person report with the Hudkeshwar police. Utilizing technical intelligence and cell location tracking, police traced the girl to the rented accommodation in Dighori late Monday night.

Officers breached the locked door to discover the victim bound hand and foot on a bed, exhibiting nearly 20 physical injuries, including sharp knife wounds to her wrists and neck. Police rescued the girl and immediately transported her to a local medical facility, where she remains under treatment. Authorities confirmed that she had been held captive in the room for over 30 hours.

Pakhare has been booked under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with charges of kidnapping and illegal confinement. Law enforcement officials are actively forensically analyzing his digital footprint and mobile devices as part of the ongoing investigation.
